About Northern Meadows
A golf course built on a shared love of the game
From Farmland to Fairways
In 1992, local mixed grain and cattle farmer, Frank Sopracolle Jr., turned his dream into a reality when he founded Northern Meadows Golf Club.
Over the next six years, Sopracolle and his family worked hard to build the foundations of what we know today. They moved their family home—which would become the clubhouse—from the town of Goodsoil to Northern Meadows. They built a driving range based on an honour’s system. And on August 1, 1998, Northern Meadows Golf Club officially opened to the public.
The early 2000s were a period of ongoing development, beginning with the back nine and culminating in rental cabins. The course expanded to an 18-hole, 6725-yard par 72 championship track on June 1, 2007. By 2012, the property would be home to eight cabins and a full-service RV park, cementing Northern Meadows as a popular destination for family vacations, weddings, and golf getaways.

A New Chapter
In 2023, more than 30 years after its inception, Northern Meadows Golf Club was bought by three local families: the Gelowtizs, Gamaches, and Kalinskis. Our new ownership is committed to building upon the club’s legacy as a pillar of the community.
